Looking Glass Falls is the signature fall for Transylvania County, North Carolina. At 60 feet, it is one of the most spectacular falls in the area. Its easy access has drawn visitors from all walks of life. It is located 5 ˝ miles north of Brevard, NC on Highway 276. This delightful fall has a set of cement steps leading to a view from the bottom of the falls, however, the falls can be viewed from a deck built beside the parking area at the top. Both views have their own unique perspective. Looking Glass Falls got its name from nearby Looking Glass Rock. Sometimes during the winter, water freezes on the sides of this granite monolith and reflects sunlight is such a way as to look like a “looking glass”.
